The workshop will be held in conjunction with the XXXVIII Latin American Encuentro of Biodynamic Agriculture. The workshop will begin on 7 December, the day before the Encuentro, and will continue through workshops and talks within the Encuentro (8-10 December).
Biodynamic training is growing and expanding in Latin America. Historically only the largest countries in the region, Argentina and Brasil, had official training programs. In 2021 a regional training program started: The Latin America Train the Trainers program. This training program is focused on young trainers from many countries in the region including Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador and Costa Rica. In 2022, seven of these countries will for the first time carry out an Introductory course in Biodynamic Agriculture. Biodynamic training is growing and becoming a fundamental tool for the growth and strengthening of the biodynamic movement in Latin America.
The Latin-American BD trainers’ workshop is the first of its kind organized in the region and it will be the first physical meeting of experienced and young trainers in the region, including trainers from the “Latin America Train the Trainers program and all interested parties. The training workshop is considered very important for developing networks of learning, communication and support among active and future biodynamic trainers and teachers, together with supporting the growth and rooting of biodynamics in Latin America.
