In 2020, Alessandro Piccolo founded The Italian Society for Biodynamic Sciences (SISB) with the participation of professors and researchers from various Italian institutions. With his colleagues, he develops research and experimentation by deepening the knowledge of biochemical and physiological mechanisms underlying the effectiveness of the biodynamic method. They aim to explore technical characteristics and procedural methods and to refine knowledge of soil-plant interactions in biodynamic farming contexts, with the ambition of creating a scientific and ecologically systemic foundation for a paradigm shift in the agricultural production system.
Alessandro Piccolo is the Chief Editor of the journal "Chemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture" which hold a thematic series on The scientific bases of biodynamic agriculture.
