On the pre-conference day of the Agriculture Conference 2026, professional and working groups of the worldwide biodynamic movement met to network and to deepen key future-oriented and technical questions in a focused atmosphere. One of the main objectives of the pre-conference day was the introduction of the new online platform of the biodynamic network based on HumHub. It creates a digital meeting space for exchange, knowledge transfer, and collaboration – in a sense, a social network for biodynamic practitioners worldwide. Here, members of the international movement can connect, further develop projects together, and continuously work on shared topics between physical meetings.
The morning was dedicated to multipliers. Advisors discussed the changes to the peer review platform and evaluated possibilities for networking and capacity building. The trainers devoted themselves to the topic of collaboration: What does collaboration mean for each individual, what does it bring to a group and to the movement? What are the visions and ideas for future collaboration?
Biodynamic researchers looked back on the successful research conference at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester last September. In the meantime, the conference proceedings have been published in a collected volume. In the afternoon, the program continued with a comparison of various long-term studies (see DOK trial) as well as an initial exchange on an international experiment on the biodynamic preparations.
In the Economic Circle, trade was at the center: Which forms of trade today have a socially trust-building and healing effect for people and the environment? What qualities characterize them – and what attitudes and structures are needed for trade to unfold its social power? Particularly in the organic sector, it is becoming apparent that previous models are increasingly reaching their limits. New alliances, new communication channels, and a consciously shaped associative practice are called for. How can producers and consumers find one another on a new relational level? With these questions, participants entered into a lively and inspiring exchange.
Further working groups met for a discussion on the “Community-Supported Economy (CSE)”, for joint work on the seven life processes, as well as for experiencing therapeutic scented water.
The evening was entirely dedicated to enjoyment and cultural diversity. Sixteen initiatives from all over the world brought biodynamic specialties – from sun-ripened figs from Peru to aromatic soups from China and Demeter-quality yogurt from Switzerland. More than 160 people gathered already on the eve of the Agriculture Conference to taste these delicacies and exchange ideas. Dance performances and project presentations by scholarship holders from Brazil, India, Malaysia, Bali, and Venezuela made the international vibrancy of the movement immediately tangible.
