Albert de Vries developed an educational program within the GreenSouth project for biodynamic and organic farming in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. The goal was to create practice-oriented training and continuing education that meet local needs and strengthen people in their professional lives.
For this purpose, de Vries presents a method of “human-inclusive research.” It places the individual impulse to act at the center: learning arises from participants’ own experiences, their culture, and their concrete practice. Key elements are empathy, shared perception, and an equal dialogue.
The project leaders view this approach as a key to shaping educational and research processes not from the top down but together with the people on site. Different regional contexts are seen not as obstacles but as valuable resources for collective learning and mutual inspiration.
