Once again, in the days leading up to the Agriculture Conference, people gathered to prepare and engage in discussions on specific topics. Advisors and educators of the biodynamic movement came together for a workshop, exchanging insights on various aspects of their work and the future development of the biodynamic impulse. The Economic Circle explored the topic of “True Cost”, while experts in medicinal plant cultivation examined Calendula officinalis from different perspectives. Meanwhile, the next generation of young biodynamic farmers also met to share their experiences and ideas.
The evening before the conference was dedicated to culinary delights. A tasting event offered participants the opportunity to discover a variety of biodynamic specialties. Alongside saffron from Iran, and figs from Peru, herbs from Norway, and spices from India, attendees could also sample Swiss cheese and dried meats. A total of 18 initiatives shared their “fruits of the earth” with the community.
A special highlight of the evening was the musical performance by the Demeter Rusch family from Appenzell, who created a warm and lively atmosphere with traditional yodeling and dulcimer music. In addition to the tasting, guests enjoyed an exquisite dinner, prepared by chefs Olivier Van der Staal and Andreas Kaiser from Anfora. The Bingenheimer Saatgut company contributed to the menu by providing heirloom vegetables.
This memorable evening set the stage for a rich and inspiring conference. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all contributors, participants, and sponsors who made this special gathering possible!
