100 years of biodynamics worldwide

Second issue of the magazine "Living Farms"

With great joy, we present the second issue of our new magazine, Living Farms. This edition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of biodynamic agriculture and its global spread – a remarkable reflection of the vitality of the biodynamic impulse!

  • In Africa, biodynamic farming methods are being applied in many places for the first time, building on traditional practices, as Feya Marince, co-founder of the Indigenous Biodynamic Association, explains in an interview.
  • Biodynamics reached North and South America as early as 1924, where it has continued to evolve creatively despite numerous challenges.
  • In Australia, biodynamic principles were refined, while from New Zealand, these methods spread to Asia. An example of this is India’s Joyful Dynamic Farm, run by Anthoni Selvi.
  • In Europe, large Demeter farms now showcase the vast potential of biodynamic agriculture.

In this special anniversary edition, we also look to the future:
How can the fruits of this 100-year cultural impulse continue to flourish? From innovations in sustainability and new research approaches to preparations for the upcoming Agriculture Conference on the theme “The Earth as a Living Being”, this new issue offers a wealth of inspiring articles that demonstrate how the biodynamic impulse can be nurtured and further developed.
