Astronomic Farming II

Let’s re-structure our learning journey and foster peer learning by exploring and addressing challenges in working on the land

Do you have a project or a research question related to biodynamic agriculture, but you're stuck and can't seem to make any progress on your own? How about joining a peer study group to give your project a push and make some real progress?

We aim to create an advanced training with a strong focus on practical relevance. Therefore, we intend to install peer study groups based on your researching questions. Peer groups provide an opportunity to share our knowledge, articulate our thoughts and express our questions in a small group. By collaborating we can benefit from the different perspectives and widen our horizon.

Your challenges, projects or current research initiatives form the basis of the training. In peer study groups, you will discuss and explore relevant topics together. Experts can provide additional input, and mentors/coaches can assist you to develop your project further. We will also explore various methods that can help to move forward. If possible, we would love to organize in-person meetings or joint farm visits to encourage networking and dive deeper. Whether this will be possible and under what conditions is still open.

To explore the possibilities of this format further, we are planning a pilot programme for this year 2026 and would like to establish a first peer study group around the theme «Astronomic Farming». We warmly invite farmers, gardeners, and other biodynamic practitioners to share with us their challenges of working with astronomic farming on the land, in pest and disease management, in processing, and in other farming situations. Or do you have a research question related to the topic and want to investigate it further?

Your questions, your challenges will be used to shape and coordinate the peer study group meetings. We will invite experts and professionals who can give further perspective on working to advance them.

We are very much looking forward to hearing from you, from your questions related challenges on your farm or research projects. Please fill out the form below, share your questions, challenges and submit the form by April 15. We will then get back to you with further information and the dates for the first meetings. Until then, join the “Astronomic Farming” Space within the Biodynamic network to start networking:

PS: We think about different types of participation to meet different needs of individuals.

Participation «light»

  • Participation with open question/challenge
  • Recherche / Literature compilation (optional)
  • Peer learning: Small presentation to your peers (basic know-how - related to the theme and your question/challenge) and discussion
  • Lectures and discussions with experts, exploring methods and tools

Participation «impact»

  • Participation with concrete project-related/research question/challenge
  • Recherche / Literature compilation
  • Peer learning: Small presentation to your peers ((basic) know-how - related to the theme and your question)
  • Lectures and discussions with experts
  • Individual / Small group meetings with a coach, exploring methods and tools
  • Final presentation of project

Participation «passive»

Are you are interested in the topic and would like to join some of the meetings without engaging too much? We are also thinking about offering a third option “participation passive” to make this possible.
