Learning with and from each other

We’ve received many thought-provoking questions out of the biodynamic movement that challenge, question, and expand the boundaries of biodynamic agriculture. What challenges and opportunities does biodynamic agriculture offer, where do we need to look beyond the horizon, and where might we even need to dig deeper? 

In addition to the interesting questions, this is a new opportunity for us to explore how can we learn from and with one another so that we can move forward together. Let’s listen to one another with open ears, open mind and open hearts, engage in conversation, and make room for other perspectives and experiences.

Join these study groups and contribute your thoughts, experiences and expertise to the discussion. We are looking forward to having Q&A and a lively and fruitful exchange after every presentation.

Continued professional development through inquiry-based learning and researching

Let’s build a study group! We’re looking for people who are keen to learn and get involved! We want to restructure and revive learning in biodynamic agriculture. We aim for a practical, individual, collaborative and dynamic approach in which the students take the leading role!

WHY should you join? 
We want to explore new ways of learning together. We’ve already offered a few online courses over the past few years, now we want to focus on concrete questions from you—farmers, community workers, nutritionists, BD prep makers, trainers, and researchers. Let's learn through elaborating on practical and relevant topics from colleagues out of the biodynamic movement. We believe, that participation not only promotes your professional development by deepening your existing knowledge, but expands your network and broadens your horizons through collaboration with peers...

WHO is is this addressed to?
We invite all farmers, multipliers, nutritionist and other professionals from within and around the biodynamic movement who wish to further explore and deepen their understanding of the biodynamic principles and their context. Participants are invited to play an active role and to join with their own (research) question. Let's build a study group!

The programme content has not yet been finalised, but will take shape through your registration, your involvement and your contributions!

We envision two types of participation: active or passive. Active participants come with a question or research topic, engage fully by giving presentations, work with peers and immerse themselves deeply in the training. The more passive participants attend certain modules as listeners, contributing to the exchange in the plenary sessions. The individual steps are explained in more detail below: 

KICK OFF MEETING: AUGUST 2026
We will schedule a meeting with all active peer study colleagues so we can get to know each other. During this meeting, we will also outline the process and the next steps of the learning journey and address your questions and ideas.

Phase 1: Warming / September – October 2026 
Active participants are invited to contribute and to prepare a short presentation (10-15min) of your question/research project connected to a relevant theme of biodynamic agriculture in an open online seminar. Therefore, we ask you to take a step back and raise your questions to a higher (meso- or macro-) level. Your contribution should preferably include (historical) context, current research findings, references, and links to other relevant works. In a subsequent plenary discussion, we would like to provide an opportunity for dialogue, questions, and sharing of best practices and ideas, by including the audience. This online seminar marks the beginning, but also the foundation for further individual and collaborative learning.Please also write a short essay for your peers and for us so that we can plan the next steps . Deadline: End of August 2026

Aims:

  • Encourage students to revisit a topic of interest, explore it, and find out more about the context and background. It sets the foundation for further individual and collaborative learning
  • Encourage students to incorporate anthroposophical perspectives into the topic and to explore them
  • Discuss interesting and relevant topics within the movement in open online sessions

Phase 2: Expanding / November – December 2026 
To broaden our horizons and delve deeper into the subject, we will invite various experts to share their insights on relevant topics. In the small-group discussions that follow, we will have the opportunity to gain further ideas and inspiration. Open online sessions. 

Aims:

  • In-depth exploration of specific relevant topics related to the students' areas of study
  • Exploring in-between spaces and relationships
  • In-depth learning through expert knowledge and peer discussion for an open public

PHASE 3: Digesting and Rounding up/ Late February - March 2027 

We will get together as study group to celebrate our achievements, look at our learning journey and the transformation of our questions: What will we take with us into the future? What new questions have come up? Where can we collaborate further?

Additionally, we will also evaluate the training approach: What was helpful? What was fun? What was missing? What can we do better?

Aims:

  • Celebrate what has been achieved
  • Share about your learning journey with your peers
  • Evaluate the learning approach
  • Look at the future
