Four visionary individuals from different regions of the world will inaugurate the Agriculture Conference 2025, sharing their experiences and dedication to fostering sustainable agriculture and food systems. Swati Renduchintala, a scientist at World Agroforestry, will bring her expertise in Indian agroecology. Ercilia Sahores, Director of the Organic Consumers Association from Argentina, will offer insights into her extensive work building global alliances for sustainable agriculture. Finally, Justus Harm, Executive Director of the Egypt Biodynamic Association (EBDA), and Thoraya Seada, Project Manager at SEKEM, will demonstrate how sustainable farming thrives in desert landscapes.
The EBDA and the SEKEM Initiative were honored with the 2024 Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity, recognizing their relentless efforts toward ecological sustainability and improved livelihoods for Egyptian farmers.
