The fourth online course run by the Section for Agriculture has been successfully completed with 17 participants from East to West and North to South. Due to the different time zones, it is quite challenging to provide courses for the worldwide biodynamic community. However, it is beautiful to see how interest, curiosity and love for the cause, as well as openness to others, allows a bond to be formed between strangers, even if this is via a digital platform.
We gathered twice a week for four weeks in a row and deepened our knowledge of the farm organism and farm individuality, two core elements in biodynamic agriculture. Theoretical sessions about the different elements in the farm organism (plants, soil, animals and human beings) and the impacts of farming practices on planetary health alternated with practical exercise sessions.
The dynamics of the course, abundant further reading material, lively discussions and new experiences led to satisfied participants, course leaders and organisers. For example, Gabriella Treiber from Hungary said: “It inspired me and even spurred me to action on something I've been avoiding for a long time, but I know is important. Since the course I have an even closer relationship to my garden and my plants and animals.”
