Mission-StatementThose working in the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum see their tasks
– in creating meeting points for people who are looking for an anthroposophical, spiritual-scientific deepening in agriculture through courses, conferences, individual opportunities to study and stimuli to work on farms, as well as through publications;
– in fostering connections and relationships in working with individuals, with institutions of the bio-dynamic movement, with Trusts in this activity and other professional concerns such as medicine and education;
– in describing and so leading to an understanding of the various backgrounds and relevance of an anthroposophical, bio-dynamic farming. We want to make these insights visible and available for the particular interested farmer and for the public. In this way, we seek to contribute towards meaningful farming.
Certain tasks stand at the moment in the foreground, such as clarifying the scientific understanding of anthroposophical spiritual science in relationship to science today; developing an understanding and applying an “everyday esotericism”; registering the results of work in hygiene (in general, and specifically the bio-dynamic preparations); for nutrition (obligatory addition of vitamins in baby foods), for the protection of plants (copper preparation) and for gene technology (Memorandum for Agriculture) in the political sphere.
